What a roof in this part of Missouri actually deals with
Southwest Missouri roofs take a beating from a specific mix of weather. Spring brings hail and straight-line wind. Summer heat cooks the mat of an asphalt shingle and drives attic temperatures up when ventilation is short. Fall and winter bring freeze and thaw cycles that work at flashing joints, nail pops and any place water can sit. Most of the failures we find are not dramatic. They start at a penetration, a valley, or a poorly sealed pipe boot and go unnoticed until a ceiling stain shows up.

How we scope a roof

An independent inspection engagement is scoped around a defined question, with documented observations and a professional opinion. That is separate from our free project/estimate inspection for prospective repair or replacement work.
An inspection starts on the ground, looking at gutter lines, downspout discharge, siding, soffit and fascia. Then we get on the roof where it is safe to do so, or fly it when the pitch or condition makes walking a bad idea. You get photos of what we found and a plain explanation of whether you are looking at a repair, a partial, or a full replacement. If a roof has years left in it, we will tell you that.
When a replacement is the right call, the scope covers tear-off to the deck, replacement of any soft or delaminated sheathing, ice and water shield at valleys and penetrations, synthetic underlayment, starter and ridge components matched to the shingle line, new pipe boots and flashing rather than reused metal, and a magnet sweep of the property before we leave.

ARCC is not a volume shop chasing storm routes. Jeff and Jessica Maez built the company around running fewer jobs and finishing them correctly, with crews who are paid to do the detail work rather than race to the next address. If we cannot get to your job when you need it done, we will say so instead of booking it and disappearing.

- How long does a typical residential replacement take?
- Most single-family roofs in this area are a one to two day job once materials are on site. Steep pitches, multiple layers, significant decking replacement or complex roof lines add time.
- Do you work on commercial buildings?
- Yes. We handle low-slope membrane, metal, and coating systems, and we stage the work so the building can stay in operation.
